Where there are bonefish, there should be mini puffs available.

Peterson's spawning shrimp is a versatile shrimp pattern used for bonefish all over the Caribbean & USA.
It swims well when striped and hovers just right when casted into deeper water.
If you are tying yourself, here are some hints:
Petersons spawning shrimp can be tied in many variations so don't stress out about having the exact color legs or yarn or fur.
As long as you have the correct proportions, you are good!
You can also tie it a bit skinny which is actually the very original version.
This is how we tie it for bonefish in Florida and the Caribbean but it works everywhere.

Little Petey is a little fly with a big punch.
Its a very effective bonefish fly which works just about everywhere.
It’s easy to tie and light as a feather and casts with ease.
It got the name “Lil’ Petey” fishing South Andros in the Bahamas.
Someone thought is was a miniature Peterson’s Spawning Shrimp and shouted, “throw me another lil’ Petey” It’s been Lil’ Petey ever since.
